Summary
Inside/out is a series of programs in which artists perform and discuss their choreography with audiences in an informal outdoor setting. In this program, Ralph Lemon presents an untitled work in progress set to a string quartet by Sibelius, and Bebe Miller presents the work in progress A haven for the restless angels of mercy, set to music by the group Saqqara Dogs. Lemon introduces his work, and after the performance discusses it with the audience, commenting on its state of completion, the use of silence and the choice of music. After the performance of Miller's work, she discusses revisions to the piece, and responds to comments on it from the audience. Lemon and Miller discuss their feelings about each other's work, the differences between their choreographic styles, and what they have learned from each other. Lemon and Miller were both artists in residence at Jacob's Pillow at the time of this program.
