Summary
The first segment on this tape records a performance by students in the Most Modern Workshop at Jacob's Pillow. The students perform works they choreographed themselves, mostly solos, some set to music and others including spoken text. The students are not identified on the tape, but most introduce the pieces they perform. At the end of the program a group work is performed. The second segment on the tape records a performance by students in the Jazz Workshop. The pieces performed were developed in the workshop's repertory class. The first, choreographed by Charles Wright to Sweet gentle love by The crusaders, is performed twice by different casts. The second piece, Prayer, protest and peace, was choreographed by Lynn Simonson to an excerpt from the Freedom now suite by Abbey Lincoln and Max Roach.
