- Summary
- In this interview James Truitte discusses the work and influence of Lester Horton. Interviewer Benjamin Harkarvy introduces Truitte and describes his own impressions on seeing Lester Horton's company for the first time. Truitte discusses his personal definition of dance; qualities he looks for in a dancer; his dance training and early career; his introduction to the Horton technique and what he learned from it; Horton's choreographic method and style; the Lester Horton Dancers; Horton's background, influences and use of props. At the end of the interview, Truitte introduces a screening of a Camera three program called Tribute to Lester Horton.
