Summary
This program, presented by teachers and students in the Jacob's Pillow jazz project, demonstrates the daily routine of jazz project students through dance and narration. Lynn Simonson introduces the program and speaks about the project. Sara Neece directs a sample ballet class; students perform petit and grand allegro combinations. Guest teacher Ann Reinking rehearses the students in singing and dancing excerpts from A chorus line and Pippin. Simonson directs a sample jazz class with warmups, an adagio including improvisation, and a combination set to blues music. The dancers enact a script about their daily life at Jacob's Pillow. At the end of the program the dancers introduce themselves and there is a question-and-answer session with the audience.
