Summary
Unedited footage, probably intended to be incorporated into a longer program, of a studio rehearsal of Just asking, a work combining movement and text. Stephan Koplowitz, the work's conceptor, director, and choreographer, supervises the performers as they rehearse excerpts from the 20-min. work, which was commissioned by Dance Theater Workshop's First Light program. Creative Club House was a mentoring program begun by Koplowitz for underprivileged students. This footage reveals something of his working process. In the last third of the recording, an off-camera interviewer inquires about the students' experiences of working with Koplowitz.
