This interview, appearing on the Australian television program This day tonight, occurred during a week of performances by the Merce Cunningham Dance Company at the Sydney Opera House. Cunningham and John Cage discuss audience reaction to their work and the relationship between dance and music in their performances. Cunningham discusses inspiration for his choreography and for Squaregame in particular. Dancers are seen rehearsing Squaregame on stage.
