It appears that the recording is halted during the students' demonstrations of their studies.

- Class taught by Erick Hawkins on June 12, 1985; this recording is the fourth in a series of recordings of classes on dance composition taught by Hawkins at New York University, New York City. The recording contains exchanges of questions and answers between Hawkins and the class participants, including David Sears, who recorded the class.
- The sound quality is fair, and the recording is marred by extraneous noise. The sound quality of the questions and comments by the students is sometimes very poor.
