According to the colophon at the end of the work, the book was copied by Salem ibn Saliman Kumli for his teacher Salem and his brother Shalem, in the second month (Iyar?), Thursday the 29th, in the year Ani le-dodi ve-dodi li (i.e. 67 = 1766). On the first flyleaf, a charm for easy childbirth. On the last flyleaf, instructions for casting lots using a Pentateuch. A loose page contains a letter in Judeo-Arabic from Menaḥem ibn Ḥasan to Salem ibn Saʻid.
