Summary
Tells the personal stories of the dancers at Philadanco, the Philadelphia-based African-American modern dance company. In interviews, the dancers speak about why they dance and what the company means to them, and discuss their other interests, future plans and financial struggles. Guest choreographer Alonzo King speaks about his experience working with the company; founder and artistic director Joan Myers Brown speaks about the difficulties involved in running the company and about the children who attend classes at the school. The interviews are interspersed with footage of dancers in rehearsals and performances.
