German documentary, originally broadcast on ZDF, comparing Robert Wilson's productions of Christoph Willibald Gluck's opera Alceste and the play Alkestis, both adaptations of Euripides' play. Includes excerpts of interviews with Wilson, scenes of Wilson directing actors and opera singers in rehearsal, and scenes from performances.
