- Merce Cunningham and Thecla Schiphorst discuss Life Forms, a software program for a three-dimensional human animation, which Schiphorst developed and Cunningham used to aid his choreographic process. The recording begins with a video showing samples of Life Forms animation, and an explanation by Schiphorst of the program's features. Cunningham speaks about his experience using Life Forms and its advantages for choreographers. Schiphorst discusses upcoming developments to the program and technical aspects of its design. Schiphorst and Cunningham respond to questions from the audience, discussing the movement vocabulary available in Life Forms and how it might influence the relationship between choreographers and dancers.
