- This program explores aspects of arts and culture in New York City, including Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway productions, museums and galleries, modern dance, classical, jazz and gospel music. Segments of the show focus on the Broadway production of Miss Saigon; the Whitney Museum of American Art; art galleries in SoHo; the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center; the Merce Cunningham Dance Company; jazz and gospel in Harlem and mural painter Frederic Gaskin. The segment on Merce Cunningham appears at 34 min. in the tape and lasts approximately 10 min., including excerpts from the videodances Points in space and Beach birds for camera, footage from classes at the Merce Cunningham dance studio, and comments from dancer Ellen Cornfield and studio administrator Alice Helpern.
