Local Note
Based on a number of references internal to the recording, it seems that Skelton may have been describing the lighting for the version of Don Quixote created by Rudolf Nureyev (after Marius Petipa), originally for the Vienna State Opera Ballet in 1966, or for a version choreographed by Anna-Marie Holmes (after Aleksandr Gorski and Petipa) for the Boston Ballet in 1989.
