Summary
This program explores the importance of the humanities in addressing problems of modern life. Dr. Willard Gaylin, psychiatrist and director of the Hastings Institute, discusses the role of the humanities in medical ethics and contemporary quality of life issues. John Clauser, director of Yellow Springs Institute, discusses relationships between architecture and society, and the possibility of humane architecture. Susan Fagan, a systems engineer for AT&T, discusses the usefulness of a liberal arts education in corporate careers.
