- Summary
- Coverage of the New York Shakespeare Festival's Festival Latino in New York, 1986 season. Tape begins with miscellaneous footage, followed by two segments on two groups from Latin America currently performing at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The first is the musical theater group Pedro Navaja from Puerto Rico. The second is Cumbre Flamenca, a flamenco dance troupe from Spain. Tape ends abruptly.

- Established in 1976 by Oscar Ciccone and Cecilia Vega, the Festival Latino in New York became part of the New York Shakespeare Festival in 1984. Billed in a 1988 program as "the most important cultural event in the United States of America," the festival supported the full range of Latino dramaturgy in the U.S. with work intended to engage the contemporary Latino audience and promote cross cultural understanding. Annual festivals featured a mix of theater, dance, music and film from Spain, Portugal and Latin America, performed in Spanish, English, Italian and Portuguese, or in combination.
