  • Mazurkas originally presented under the title Dances (in honor of Poznan, Wroclaw, Katowice, and Warszawa). José Limón changed the title for later performances, adding a program note which referred to the work as a tribute to the heroic spirit of the Polish people.
  • Moor's Pavane first performed in Aug. 1949 at Connecticut College American Dance Festival by the José Limón Dance Company.
