- Summary
- Bunraku is a traditional form of professional puppet theater of Japan which features chanted text, musical accompaniment on the shamisen, and the three person operation of each puppet. Videocassettes feature a series of Bunraku performances given in New York City, a demonstration of the various aspects of the art of Bunraku following the New York perfomance, and backstage footage of a performance in Boston, which includes the demonstration of puppet operation.
