Summary
This collection dcouments the professional activities of Agnes Morgan (1879-1976)--director, playwright, actress and theatrical producer--who was especially known for her work with the Neighborhood Playhouse on Grand Street in New York City. Of particular note in this collection are scrapbooks of original photographs and programs of productions of the Grand Street Follies, a revue presented at the Neighborhood Playhouse on Grand Street beginning in 1922, and moved to the larger Booth Theatre for the 1928 and 1929 seasons when it was produced by Actors-Managers, Inc. Directed by Morgan, the show emphasized wit and satire with impersonations of actors, politicans and other well-known figures.
