Vinnette Carrol of the New York State Council on the Arts and Carman Moore, music critic of the Village Voice, are interviewed on WRVR Radio's Attitude, a program focusing on the cultural revolution with emphasis on black artists in music and drama. In this segment, Vanette Carol discusses the financial complications facings black artistic groups. Carman Moore discusses the career of legendary blues singer, Bessie Smith. Smith's rendition of "Gimme a pigfoot and a bottle of beer" is heard as a famous example of her vocal style. Other artists featured included Nina Simone, Leon Thomas and the group Lost Poets.
