This film documents the way one county government is addressing it communities' problems of crime, teenage pregnancy, drop-out rates, health, employment, and criminal justice. In the "Rites of Passage" tradition, men of the community share needed knowledge with young males on the the threshold of adulthood. The youth are taught about their history, about health, conflict resolution, and other issues which equip them for their futures. It is hoped that this program will serve as a model for communities and governments throughout the country."
