Summary
Anonymous caricatures, listed in Mary Dorothy George, Catalogue of political and personal satires preserved in the Department of Prints and Drawings in the British Museum. Includes satires on the election of a poet laureate, fishing, peddlers, prostitutes, Regent's Park and spiders. Individuals portrayed include Lord Eldon, Earl Grey, George IV, Napoleon, Lord Russell, Spencer Perceval, the Duke of Wellington and William IV. Also included are depictions of an officer in the uniform of the Life Guards and of the fictitious legal person, John Doe, and a representation of the Game of Goose.
