Portraits and caricatures of British actors and actresses of the 18th and early 19th centuries, including John Bannister, Elizabeth Billington, Angelica Catalani, T.P. Cooke, R.W. Elliston, Elizabeth Farren, John Fawcett, David Garrick, Joseph Grimaldi, Dorothy Jordan, John Philip Kemble, Joseph Shepherd Munden, Mary Robinson, Richard Brinsley Sheridan, Sarah Siddons, Peg Woffington, Henry Woodward and Mary Ann Yates. Includes representations of amateur theatre, ballet, clowns, comedies, dancers, farce, masquerades, operas, pantomimes and tragedies at theaters including the Covent Garden Theatre, the Drury Lane Theatre, the Haymarket Theatre & the Sadlers Wells Theatre. One series of prints relates to the Old Price Riots of 1809. Other individuals depicted include the Earl of Derby, the Prince of Wales, Sir Lumley Skeffington and Mrs. Fitzherbert.
