"For Daniel was written for and is dedicated to The Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio with a commission from the Arizona Friends of Chamber Music sponsored by John and Helen Schaefer. The work was written in memory of Daniel MacArthur, nephew of the composer, who passed away after a long illness in 2003. The first performance was given by The Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio on 2 March 2004 at the Tucson Winter Festival."
