- This program features a panel discussion on Gordon Getty's opera Plump Jack, interspersed with performances of musical selections from the opera, which is set to passages from William Shakespeare's King Henry IV plays. Panelists, including Getty and Paul Sperry, who originated the role of Hal, discuss the primacy of text in the opera, its evolution from a concert piece, and the suitability of recitative for settings of Shakespeare.
