Summary
This program includes a panel discussion about three works choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon to György Ligeti's music, interspersed with performances of excerpts from the dances. The panelists discuss the appeal and difficulty of Ligeti's music for the choreographer, dancer, and musician, and Wheeldon's collaborative approach. Artist James Buckhouse discusses laser prints he has made from overhead video footage of Wheeldon's dances, and dancers Soto and Whelan perform a pas de deux in front of a screen with a live overhead video feed of their movement.
