Summary

Includes three complete ballets and highlights from other ballets featuring Jacques D'Amboise, originally filmed for television, and an interview with D'Amboise from 2006. D'Amboise speaks about his childhood and how he began to dance; his early years with the School of American Ballet, Ballet Society and New York City Ballet; Balanchine's choreography for him; the importance of the ballets Filling station and Apollo in his career; Balanchine's admiration for Igor Stravinsky; D'Amboise's movie work, including Seven brides for seven brothers; television performances; his creation of the National Dance Institute to introduce dance into New York City public schools, and his international projects encouraging schoolchildren to raise money for charitable causes.
