  • The waltz king is a docudrama about Johann Strauss father and son, with dramatized scenes and narration by Lesley Garret filmed at historical locations in Vienna. The film explores the rivalry between the two composers; Strauss senior's relationship with Joseph Lanner; the origins of the waltz in the "Ländler" folk dance, and the story of how its popularity swept Europe, provoking controversy and influencing fashion and social behavior.
