Summary
Elizabeth Kaye, host of ABTalks, moderates a panel discussion, interspersed with selections from Sylvia. Christopher Newton explains the plot of the ballet, introduces each scene performed, talks about Ashton's ballet based on the Beatrix Potter Tales, which was choreographed late in his career, and describes the Fred step. David Vaughan discusses how Ashton came to create this ballet, elaborates on his choreographic style, and discusses Ashton's innovative slow male solos.
