Summary
Charles Wuorinen hosts a panel discussion with composers, Yu-Hui Chang and Jason Eckardt. Chang talks about her original intent in composing transpiration and how it differed from the final product. She also discusses the composition of her work Perplexing sorrow as a reaction to the tragedy of 9/11. Composer Jason Eckardt joins Charles Wuorinen in a discussion about his work Tongues. Eckardt discusses his choice of instrumentation as well as his choice for the title of the piece.
