- Description
- 1 videodisc (NTSC) (72 min.) : sd., col.; 4 3/4 in.
- Summary
- Gia Kourlas moderates a panel discussion with choreographer Brian Reeder, who discusses the dance, Gotcha! Reeder describes his use of the music Asche composed by Mark André; the process of creating the choreography; how he has been inspired by film; and his own career as a dancer. George Steel moderates a panel discussion with composer Peter Phillips, founder and conductor of the Tallis Scholars, who discusses his relatively new career as a composer. He also talks about his piece Four Rondeaux by Charles D'Orleans, including the instrumentation, the use of a contralto voice, and the texts themselves.
- Gia Kourlas moderates another panel discussion with Karole Armitage, choreographer of the work Visual brainstorming. Armitage discusses her choice of the music Mes Béatitudes composed by Gérard Pesson; the choreography; her use of improvisation in the dance; and her decision to move from Europe back to New York.
