- Description

- Summary
- Margot Harley speaks with Newsday critic Linda Winer. Harley talks about how she and the late John Houseman created The Acting Company, the major touring classical theatre in the United States, of which she is producing director. Harley speaks about starting the company with a talented group of graduates at the Julliard School's new drama division; how young actors like Kevin Kline and Patti LuPone launched their careers at The Acting Company; the rigorous training the company offers young actors, and the dearth of young actors today who are willing to commit to such training. Harley also bemoans the pressures on today's classical theatre that needs to produce well-known plays to attract audiences.
