  • "Designed by Ian Mortimer and printed and produced by his press, I.M. Imprimit, London. The complete edition comprises a Solander box containing the 25 ornamented alphabets on 46 sheets, a title-page, a two-sheet printer's note, a two-sheet visual index, and a colophon; and this book with its slip-case. The text for this accompanying volume has been typeset and the pages made up with the illustrations at I.M. Imprimit. The typeface for the text is 14, 12, and 11 point Scotch Roman (Monotype series 137) specially cast for the edition by the Hand Press, Westerham. Headings and sub-headings are in Fry's French Canon no. 2 and William Caslon IV's 2-line English 'Egyptian.' Both text and display types were set by hand. Compositors: Geoffrey Bamford, Julia Horsfall. The made-up formes were taken to Alan Kitching's Typeography Workshop, London, and were printed by us on his Stephenson Blake proofing press; the printing of the illustrations was completed on Albion and Columbian hand presses at I.M. Imprimit. Printers: Julia Horsfall, Ian Mortimer ... The paper is an acid-free Zerkall mould-made, 175 gsm, specially made for this edition and supplied by John Purcell Paper, London. The binding and slip-case are made by the Fine Bindery, Wellingborough"--Colophon, v. [1].
