- Symphony no. 6 - Pathétique was first performed by the New York City Ballet at the New York State Theater, June 14, 1981, with music by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, choreography by George Balanchine (4th movement) and Jerome Robbins (2nd movement), costumes by Ben Benson (2nd movement), Kermit Love and Rouben Ter-Arutunian (4th movement), and lighting by Ronald Bates. The third movement was performed by orchestra only.
