Possibly depicting one of the bailiffs from the seventh scene ("Carnival in Venice") from the ballet d'action, Casanova in Venice.

  • "Casanova a Venezia" premiered in Milan at La Scala, Jan. 19, 1929. Choreography: Heinrich Kröller; music: Riccardo Pick-Mangiagalli; libretto: Giuseppe Adami; scenery & costumes: Caramba. Vincenzo Celli danced the principal role of Casanova, alonside Cia Fornaroli as Lauretta. "Carnival in Venice" was the seventh scene of Casanova a Venezia.
