- Roy Gonsalves (1960-1993) was an African-American gay poet, visual artist, and a literary performing artist. He published in a number of publications in his lifetime including "Essence," "The Pyramid Periodical," and "Evening Sunshine."
- As a performance artist, Gonsalves performed at the Studio Museum of Harlem, Men of All Colors Together, A Different Light Bookstore, and Yale University.
