According to points given by Johannsen, Arents copy contains the following: 24A, 26B, 28B, 29B, 32A, 34A, 36A, 37A, 38A, frontispiece B.Binding: Contemporary half red morocco and marbled paper boards; all edges gilt. The Vanderpoel copy, a presentation copy in a similar binding, is "apparently ... one of a few copies specially bound for Dickens"--Carr.Author's presentation copy, inscribed on dedication leaf to Augustus Egg, Oct. 3, 1853.Provenance: Gertrude A.E. Baskerville (inscribed on free front endpaper from G.A.E. Baskerville to her sister Clarie, Dec. 1863); Jerome Kern (bookplate).
