- The text comprises selections from the writings of D. T. Suzuki, E. Herrigel and G. Braque.
- Illustrations: 7 lithographs (6 in color and 1 in black and white), additional lithograph (printed twice, in pink and white on inner wrapper), etching on outer wrapper, 2 woodcuts (on silk covered case and on portfolio, with an additional impression of each laid in), all by Georges Braque. The wooducts were printed by Fequet et Baudier, the lithographs by E. et J. Desjobert and the etching by Crommelynck et Dutrou. The designs were erased from the stones, and the plates and wood blocks cancelled after printing.
