  • A close reprint (or possibly a re-issue) of the 1549 edition.
  • Pt. 2 comprises Romans to Revelation and an index to the Epistles and Gospels.
  • Illustrations: numerous woodcuts in the Gospels, Acts and Revelation which fall into three series according to Brun and have been attributed by Baudrier to Pierre Eskrich and Georges Reverdy. They had previously appeared in earlier editions. Pictorial and ornamental initials. Publisher's device on t. p.
  • With inscriptions indicating ownership in 1631 etc. by Rees Haward and others.
  • Binding, 16th century French, of brown leather, elaborately gilt, with a large stamp (partly strapwork) on the covers and three compartments on the spine. There are traces of green and red paint on the strapwork and indications that ties were once present. With gauffered edges. Binding repaired.
