- Includes 110 fables in French and Latin prose and English verse, the latter (by Mrs. Alpha Behn) etched below Barlow's illustrations.
- The English version of the life is by Thomas Philipot, the French and Latin by Robert Codrington.
- Illustrations: 144 etchings, comprising added illustrated title, frontispiece to the life, arms of the dedicatee, 31 full-page and 110 half-page illustrations to the life and fables respectively, all after Francis Barlow, most etched by himself, a few by Thomas Dudley.
- With bookplate of Adelaide Spofford and autograph of Harriet Farnham.
