- Sheet [1]. Title -- Sheet [2]. Letterpress preface by Rip (i.e. Georges-Gabriel Thenon) -- Sheet [3]. Josephine Baker's text on the Revue nègre and the Charleston, entitled "Topic of the day." It is handwritten in lithographed facsim. -- Sheets [4-26]. Lithographed on both sides in black, brown, or gray, mostly colored in pochoir (one sheet has blank verso). They depict jazz players and dancers, including a number of Josephine Baker, with caricatures of figures of French popular culture that convey their response to the Revue nègre. These include Maurice Chevalier, Ida Rubinstein, Rip (the author of the introd.), the film actress Jane Marnac, the theatrical caricaturist Sem, etc. (see introd. by Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and Karen C.C. Dalton to: Josephine Baker and La revue nègre. New York : Abrams, 1998). The final folded sheet has a double-page image on one side, two images on the verso.
- In a paper folder, printed on p. [1] and [4], within a cream-colored folder of heavy stock, p. [1] of which is embossed and colored red and black to repeat the title sheet.
