Summary

Cassette contains semi-annual dinner board meeting for New York Shakespeare Festival. The financial summary report showed monetary deficits of the organization including a IRS audit. Movies of musicals were also discussed, including A chorus line (currently being written) and the disappointing movie profits of Pirates of Penzance. Joseph Papp announced the plays in the upcoming 1984 NYSF season, including The human comedy, A private view, and Nest of the wood grouse. Papp also talked at length about the option of making Charles Dicken's "Mystery of Edwin Drood" a full-length musical, which was eventually written by Rupert Holmes.
