• William Gifford, English satirist and editor. His verse satire The Baviad was published in 1791, and he was the editor of the short-lived tory sponsored Anti-Jacobin, or Weekly Examiner. Gifford served as editor of The Quarterly Review from 1809 to 1824.

William Gifford, English satirist and editor. His verse satire The Baviad was published in 1791, and he was the editor of the short-lived tory sponsored Anti-Jacobin, or Weekly Examiner. Gifford served as editor of The Quarterly Review from 1809 to 1824.
