- Description
- 1 videodisc (NTSC) (25 min.) : sd., col.; 4 3/4 in.
- Summary
- Uses dance to illustrate how symbolic language, known as notation, can be used to both record and recreate dances. It looks at one method of notation, Labanotation, and describes how, 70 years later, the original steps in Nijinsky's ballet Afternoon of a Faun were danced. They were rediscovered, and recreated, after Nijinsky's own annotated choreographic score had been translated to Labanotation.
