- Summary
- This program was presented in collaboration with the World Science Festival. An excerpt from Connoisseurs of chaos and a series of excerpts from the work-in-progress The elegant universe are interspersed with discussions of physics. Karole Armitage speaks about how her choreography was inspired by and reflects the ideas of relativity, quantum mechanics and string theory, drawn from the book The elegant universe by Brian Greene. Greene offers further explanation and discussion of the history of relativity and quantum theory, the uncertainty principal, and the attempt to unify physics through string theory. Lukas Ligeti speaks about the musical score, how musics is related to physics, the influence of African percussion on his work, and the marimba lumina.
