- Disc 1 (ca. 37 min.). Ted Shawn speaks with Don McDonagh about the Denishawn company; teaching ethnic, folk, and ballet dance; beginnings of modern dance; the inception of Shawn's dance school in 1912; Ruth St. Denis, and her role in the company; the role of male dancers in a then female-dominated dance world; Serge Diaghilev and Vaslaw Nijinsky, and the U.S. tours; the role of art in society and how quickly it is removed from public programs when the economy is challenged; city funding for the arts; summer dance festivals in N.Y.; funding for Jacob's Pillow.
- Disc 2 (ca. 32 min.). Ted Shawn speaks with Don McDonagh about the war years and the Denishawn and Ted Shawn dance companies; Martha Graham's involvement in teaching at Denishawn; Ruth St. Denis's decision to dance solo; the disbanding of Denishawn; L.A. dance studio where the dances Julnar of the sea and Xochil were choreographed; Graham's style in dance and costuming; his view that Graham was unglamorous, and the difference between her stage and real life personnas; Geordie Graham, Graham's sister, and Lizzie, the Graham family's maid.

Ted Shawn speaks with Don McDonagh about the Ted Shawn dancers touring in London and Paris; Graham's unhappiness during the tour due to involvement with Louis Horst; Betty Horst's accompaniment on the tour, and the affect her presence had on Graham; Bohemian Grove in San Francisco and his involvement there, citing the fact that Betty Horst was the first female the all-male club allowed on the premises; dancing in Hollywood movies; the difference between vaudeville and concert performances [abrupt end].
