Summary
Intermission features an interview between a famous American tenor Richard Tucker and Ben Grauer in connection to the singer's role in the 1949 NBC complete performance of Aida under Toscanini which was heard and shown on radio and television. It was the only time Tucker worked with the maestro, but the lessons from those rehearsals remained the guideline throughout his entire career.
