Filed under Mary Shelley. -- 28 May 1830 : (G'ANA 0020) : explaining he'd received Payne's note too late to fulfill its requests; also, "I however see, if the bills are to be trusted, that my good offices were not wanted ..."

  • William Godwin, Jr., English journalist. He was the only son of William Godwin, philosopher and novelist, and the half-brother of Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein. Godwin was a reporter for the Morning Chronicle from 1823 until his death in 1832. His novel Transfusion was published in 1835, with a memoir prefixed by his father.
