- Description
- 1 sound tape reel (54:10) : analog, 7 1/2 ips., full track mono.; 10 in.
- Summary
- Intermission features Eleanor Steber, a noted American soprano, who sang the part of Marcelina in the concert version of Beethoven's Fidelio under Toscanini that was broadcasted on NBC in 1944. She describes the rehearsals with maestro, whom she calls a perfectionist, as very disciplined and precise, and remembers him, at that time a man in his seventies, as an "electrifying force" that transcended "youthful vitality" to people around him.
