- Summary
- Despite her parents' admonition never to hitchhike, Andrea accepts a ride from a stranger who rapes her. Andrea confides her terrible experience to a girlfriend who convinces her to inform the police. They, in turn, insist that Andrea tell her parents. Andrea's parents are shocked and divided. Her mother wants to keep the incident a secret; her father wants the rapist to be apprehended and punished. Supported by her father and friends at the Rape Hotline, Andrea finds the courage to identify the rapist and give testimony in court.
