- A record of the lifestyle that has evolved inside R. D. Laing's radical therapeutic community in London where the mentally disturbed live in equality and freedom and help each other explore new values and meaningful patterns of social interaction. Dramatic successions of aberrant behavior are followed by scenes in this unique community. Laing introduces portions of the film and clarifies his position that schizophrenia and other socially unacceptable forms are personal strategies for life in an inhuman society.
